Since 2006, Garden Oak Press has published the San Diego Poetry Annual, an anthology that has become part of the permanent collections of every college and university library in San Diego County, the county and city public library systems and the libraries of independent cities throughout the region.

In 2012, Garden Oak Press launched an effort  to produce, distribute and promote library-quality poetry collections that might otherwise go unpublished.  The first effort, Santa Monica Disposal & Salvage by Penny Perry,  a seven-time Pushcart Prize nominee, appeared in April of that year and received rave reviews from Marge Piercy, Steve Kowit, Maria Mazziotti Gillan and Diane Wakoski.
